‘Imi Loa is a 1979 Ericson 31 Independence. She is 31’ long with a 10’5″ beam (width), and a 4’11” draft (depth below waterline) and displaces 11,400 pounds. She is constructed primarily of fiberglass with some teek trim on deck and lots of teak in the cabin. The Ericson Independence was designed for the “cruising couple” and is capable of making offshore passages. The cabin is designed to sleep 2 comfortably but can sleep as many as 5. She has some fairly modern features (for 1979 anyway) such as her modified full keel but her look is very traditional.
